Auras: Seeing the body/spirit connection
By Larry Boswell
Back in the eighties a young singer by the name of Cyndi Lauper had a hit record with a song titled “True Colors”. Perhaps she was singing about auras. There is indeed a light that surrounds us that can be seen and read. It has been said that the colors contained in this light – this aura, reflects our genuinely true nature and feelings at any given moment. The analysis and interpretation of these colors are usually made by the observation of the aura surrounding the head. These colors and their meanings are as follows:
PURPLE: Represents thoughts of a spiritual nature. Its appearance is subtle, cloud-like or like that of a flame. It is impermanent, appearing briefly.
BLUE: Reflective of balance. Blue aura can indicate a state of calm and relaxation. Often when one’s aura is dominated by blue the mind is open to sending or receiving telepathic thought.
TURQUOISE: The presence of this color in the aura is indicative of high energy. Usually people featuring a strong point of turquoise in their aura are capable of doing more than one task at a time. They often are well organized and positively influence others.
GREEN: A peaceful, healing energy is present when this color is observed. Natural healers often have a strong green presence in their aura. Also individuals with a strong green point are often adept at cultivating growth in nature, gardening and maintaining plants.
YELLOW: A yellow glow indicates a joyful, spiritual inner energy. It is connected to vital life forces. Can often be a sign of a spiritual teacher. It has been noted and depicted in art that both Jesus and Buddha exhibited prominent yellow aura sometimes referred to as a halo.
ORANGE: Powerful, indicating the capability and sometimes the desire to control others. In combination with yellow can often indicate a very strong spiritual teacher.
RED: Indicates thoughts of the material or physical.
PINK: A combination of the purple and red auras indicative of a rare balance of the spiritual and the material usually lasting only temporarily.
The above colors are clean, bright and monochromatic although there is also a more muddled, dirtier aspect of auric colors.
BROWN: Blocking spirituality, negative and material.
GRAY: Dark, depressed thoughts, clouded intentions.
SULFUR: Anger, pain, ill at ease.
WHITE: Psychic noise, spiritual static, may indicate serious illness, drug use or disharmony. A white aura often appears shortly before death.
We are, as our ancestors knew, beings of energy and light. Each individual is his or her own prism refracting the light of self into a rainbow of color. To understand something about those colors is to understand more about ourselves and to increase our communication and our connection.
